Meet the Hobbyists
Long before we were curating stories we believed were worthy of print, we were beach kids running around our hometown of sunny Naples, Florida. Being surrounded by a largely retired community that treated their hobbies like a career shaped how we saw time, creativity, and what a life could look like when built around the things you love.
As we went to college, got married, and eventually moved thousands of miles apart, we kept finding our way back to the same conversation: a desire to be more engaged in our communities, to learn new skills, and to spend our time on things that didn’t live on our phones. We loved seeing hobbies come back to life online, but it often felt like too much, too fast, and more consumption than inspiration.
On a girls trip to Round Top, Texas, surrounded by makers, collectors, and creativity, we found ourselves searching for a magazine that captured this way of living. When we couldn’t find it, we knew we wanted to create it.
